“Fractured”, 48×36″ was selected by Lavar Munroe the juror of the Art League April 2019 show (devoted to mixed media). Inspired by the 1950’s works of Alberto Burri, Yves Klein, Lee Bontecou and their contemporaries, in this work physicality and unpredictability have introduced a new compelling energy as the painting has entered the world of objects—result of cutting and leaving openings on the canvas while revealing another surface behind.
