This marks my fifth consecutive acceptance at this prestigious venue affiliated with The Smithsonian.

The exhibition runs through September 20, 2026, offering you ample time to experience the exhibit and the beautiful gardens.
About the selected piece:
Canyon I, watercolor and pigment print on a 16×16″ water media panel, is one of the landscape pieces in my Colorfield series, which focuses on a dialogue between the structured precision of cartography and the fluid, emotive qualities of colorfield abstraction. They visualize the human impulse to map and categorize the natural world by overlaying boundaries onto atmospheric horizons. Red and warm colors dominate the palette in these series, with cold hues used as accents. The degree of abstraction varies; some, including Canyon I, are inspired by the Midwestern US, Arizona, New Mexico, and the Grand Canyon.
