About the selected piece:
My Indoor Pond collection, consisting of small layered watercolor on pigment print pieces (16-18″ wide), is a study of boundaries: where solid structures meet liquid depths and airy light. I use these states of matter to bridge the gap between abstract shapes and familiar forms, letting the concept dictate the movement of color across the canvas. While the series is grounded in a deep, atmospheric palette of greens, it is defined by its “interruptions”—shocks of warm light and cool blues. Here, the solitary blue frog acts as a vibrant anchor, emerging from the dominant greens to breathe life into the composition.
