I am deeply grateful for being invited to participate and sell my art at the 2024 Transformer’s Annual Auction Exhibition & Benefit Gala, Transcendence. This event, in collaboration with the Austrian Embassy in DC and the American University, was a celebration of innovative contemporary art and artists that rise above the fray, with 160+ artworks in a variety of mediums by a dynamic mix of emerging and more established artists. All proceeds from Transcendence supported Transformer and the participating artists. I was thrilled the auction’s jurors selected three of my paintings, recognizing my artistic journey. I sold two of my paintings with multiple bids in this event, and I am pleased that my art has contributed to the growth of our artist communities.

Many thanks to those who attended my art talk on November 16 and purchased my paintings on the gala night on November 23.

A few words about the jurors and the nomination process:

I was nominated (without any early knowledge or open calls) to submit artwork to be considered for inclusion in Transcendence via an extensive Nominating Committee of artists and artist leaders, including:

I was initially told that the committee would select only one piece from each artist, but I am very pleased that they chose three of my works!
