My painting Gallery Chromatique was selected by Nicholas Serratore, the independent juror of the month for the October 2024 Open Art Exhibit at The Art League, Alexandria, VA.
Concept:
Gallery Chromatique is another painting in which I utilize geometrical shapes generated from an imaginary interior as color fields. The architecture of this interior consists of a corridor with several entries—a dream-like passage easy to get lost in, distracting from composition and focusing on colors. The color fields jump from the floor to the painting on the wall and the doorways, while the main walls and ceiling remain neutral gray. I created the composition outline digitally, transferred it onto the canvas (20×24″) and painted it with acrylic, pastel and spray paint.
