Where: The Art League Gallery, Alexandria, VA

Exhibition Duration: September 9 – October 4, 2026

Featured Work: Fallings (mixed media—spray paint, acrylic, pastel, and collaged stained tissue paper on 48×36″ canvas) from the Figurative Series

Fallings was selected for The Art League’s miniMAX Exhibit (MAX category) and received an Honorable Mention from the independent juror, Samantha Esmé Williams. As one of the gallery’s most anticipated annual shows, miniMAX highlights the dramatic contrast between extreme scale and intricate detail, bringing together exceptional works from local miniature artists and large-scale creators.

About the Artwork

At play in Fallings are themes of rescue, adrenaline, and vivid dreams of floating, flying, or plummeting from the sky into the water. Set against a soft, misty pastel background, male figures rendered in striking warm tones and deep cool hues drift across the canvas. A structured perspective grid collides with and balances these fluid, organic forms—drawing inspiration from the revolutionary spatial geometry of Renaissance masters to explore contemporary abstract and surreal narratives.
