Transcendence Art Auction Gala at American University Katzen Arts Center

I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to participate in the 2024 Transformer’s Annual Auction Exhibition & Benefit Gala, Transcendence, in collaboration with the Austrian Embassy in DC and the American University. This event is a celebration of innovative contemporary art and artists that rise above the fray, with 160+ artworks in a variety of mediums by a dynamic mix of emerging and more established artists, as well as unique experiences, all up for bidding and buying! All proceeds from Transcendence support Transformer and the participating artists. I am thrilled the auction’s jurors have selected three of my paintings, recognizing my artistic journey. This is a fundraiser to support art and artists, and I am excited that my art will contribute to the growth of our artist communities.

A few words about the jurors and the nomination process:

I was nominated (without any early knowledge or open calls) to submit artwork to be considered for inclusion in Transcendence via an extensive Nominating Committee of artists and artist leaders, including:

• Transformer staff.

I was initially told that the committee would select only one piece from each artist, but I am very pleased that they chose three of my works!
