The Art League November 2026 Little Winter Exhibit

Where: The Art League Gallery, Alexandria, VA
Opening Reception: November 13, 6:30 – 8 pm
Exhibition Duration: November 5 – December 7, 2026
Featured Works: Arcadia and Eclipsed Temple (watercolor, pastel, and acrylic layered over pigment print on cotton rag, mounted on wood) from the Coastal Skyline collection
Little Winter is one of The Art League’s most fun annual exhibits. It offers visitors affordable small art that makes wonderful gifts, and I am thrilled that independent juror Tiara Safic-Martin selected two of my small mixed-media paintings—Eclipsed Temple and Arcadia—for this show.
Join us for the opening reception on Friday, November 13, to enjoy several exhibits by local DMV artists—including The Social Vibe, Steve Mabley’s solo exhibition, the Open Exhibit, and the adjacent Gallery 75. I have several pieces in Little Winter and Gallery 75 that make great holiday gifts—and Gallery 75 also has other gift options.
About the Artworks
Both pieces are from the Coastal Skyline collection, a sub-category of my Colorfield series. I wish the manmade and the natural would meet on equal terms, and this collection gives that wish form—town geometry, sun, and sea sharing one horizon. In Eclipsed Temple, an eclipsed sun hangs over a lone tree and the bright geometry of a coastal town, with the sea beyond. In Arcadia, a rainbow arcs over a pale sun above the shoreline. Each piece is built the Coastal Skyline way: watercolor, pastel, and acrylic layered by hand over my pigment print on cotton rag, mounted on wood—so every one is an original, not a reproduction.
