Canyon Bride from my recent series, Spirits, was selected and won an Honorable Mention by the independent juror, Amy Waldrop, for the Art League’s December 2025 Open Exhibit. I am very excited about this selection, as this is the debut of the Spirits series outside my studio.
About the selected piece:
The veiled figure rises from the landscape, symbolizing the ethereal emergence of nature’s guardians and underscoring humanity’s inherent connection to and responsibility for the Earth. The “Spirits” series fuses figurative and landscape painting through a unique technique employing dense, filament-like lines and parallel striations, reminiscent of intaglio or etching. I hope to emphasize environmental awareness with this approach.
The Art League December Open Exhibit will be on display from December 11 to January 4.
The opening reception is Friday, December 12, 6:30-8 pm.
This coincides with Torpedo Factory Art Center’s Holiday Openhouse—Winter Welcome Event, 7-10 pm, which takes place in the same building and spans all three floors.
Join us for a festive atmosphere filled with holiday music and creative cheer. Explore open artist studios, including my own (studio 5), find unique art gifts, and enjoy seasonal activities as we kick off the winter season together.
