Portal Mystique from my Architectural Series (40×30″ mixed media on canvas) was selected by Mike Jabbur, juror for the October Open Exhibit at The Art League, Alexandria, VA.

In this colorist approach, I used a composition with characteristics of my Perspective series. Here, the depth and representational elements are combined with spontaneous abstract expressions to generate a surrealistic scene—a mysterious journey to a city built on water inspired by Venice. The narrative is about a wish coming true, but I leave it open to the viewers’ interpretations.
