SUMMARY:Rhythm: Movement in Art\, Annmarie Arts Center\, The Smithsonian
DESCRIPTION:Fallings and Bliss from my Figurative series have been selected for the Rhythm: Movement in Art exhibit at Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center. This marks my fourth consecutive acceptance at this prestigious venue affiliated with The Smithsonian. \nDuration: \nThe exhibition runs from February 13 through April 19\, 2026\, offering you ample time to experience the art and the beautiful gardens. \nAbout the selected pieces: \nFallings\, 48×36″ mixed media—In this piece\, I put floating male figures with vivid orange and teal up against a misty background of pastel colors. The perspective grid is balancing the organic forms. Inspired by the discovery of perspective in Renaissance paintings\, I applied the same tools to contemporary abstract and surreal motifs. There is a mood of freedom and an adrenaline rush at the same time. \nBliss\, 24×24″ mixed media—about the joy of putting behind a shattered past—preservation or deliverance from harm\, ruin\, or loss. I’ve used a solid wooden artboard and various media and tools\, including initial digital studies\, stained tissue paper (collaged)\, acrylic paint (brush and spray)\, pastel\, stencils\, and sanding\, to achieve the unique look and feel of this painting. I allow the viewer’s imagination to tell the narrative.

SUMMARY:Green: AACC Annual National Juried Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:Blue Frog from my Indoor Pond collection\, Architectural series\, is selected for the AACC Annual National Juried Exhibit\, Green at the Cade Center for Fine Arts Gallery\, Arnold\, Maryland. Juried by Roberto Ferrari\, renowned curator of Columbia University\, it was selected from 400 submissions\, with only 43 artists chosen. \nDuration: April 28–July 14 \nOpening Reception/Meet the Artist: April 29 \nAbout the selected piece: \nMy Indoor Pond collection\, consisting of small layered watercolor on pigment print pieces (16-18″ wide)\, is a study of boundaries: where solid structures meet liquid depths and airy light. I use these states of matter to bridge the gap between abstract shapes and familiar forms\, letting the concept dictate the movement of color across the canvas. While the series is grounded in a deep\, atmospheric palette of greens\, it is defined by its “interruptions”—shocks of warm light and cool blues. Here\, the solitary blue frog acts as a vibrant anchor\, emerging from the dominant greens to breathe life into the composition. \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n
