SUMMARY:Rhythm: Movement in Art\, Annmarie Arts Center\, The Smithsonian
DESCRIPTION:Fallings and Bliss from my Figurative series have been selected for the Rhythm: Movement in Art exhibit at Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center. This marks my fourth consecutive acceptance at this prestigious venue affiliated with The Smithsonian. \nDuration: \nThe exhibition runs from February 13 through April 19\, 2026\, offering you ample time to experience the art and the beautiful gardens. \nAbout the selected pieces: \nFallings\, 48×36″ mixed media—In this piece\, I put floating male figures with vivid orange and teal up against a misty background of pastel colors. The perspective grid is balancing the organic forms. Inspired by the discovery of perspective in Renaissance paintings\, I applied the same tools to contemporary abstract and surreal motifs. There is a mood of freedom and an adrenaline rush at the same time. \nBliss\, 24×24″ mixed media—about the joy of putting behind a shattered past—preservation or deliverance from harm\, ruin\, or loss. I’ve used a solid wooden artboard and various media and tools\, including initial digital studies\, stained tissue paper (collaged)\, acrylic paint (brush and spray)\, pastel\, stencils\, and sanding\, to achieve the unique look and feel of this painting. I allow the viewer’s imagination to tell the narrative.

SUMMARY:Hybrid Baroque—in search of new sensoria\, 2026
DESCRIPTION:I was deeply honored to have my recent works featured in a solo exhibition at the prestigious IA&A at Hillyer in DC. This selection\, chosen from hundreds of competitive local and international proposals\, was a significant professional affirmation of my artistic direction\, particularly following the well-attended opening reception\, which garnered many compliments from art lovers and fellow artists. \nVirtual Gallery Guide >\nThe exhibition features works (created between late 2023 and February 2026) from my Baroque series\, inspired by the dynamism and grandeur of Western Baroque and the rich traditions of Eastern miniatures that I have studied since childhood. \nThese paintings are intentionally theatrical. I establish the “stage” through chromatic harmony and movement\, inviting you\, the viewer\, to step into the scene and complete the narrative.  \nArtist Talk\nDuring the artist talk (March 21)\, we dove deep into the concept and process\, and the exchange of ideas with fellow art enthusiasts and creatives was truly inspiring. \nwith moderator and print expert\, Joshua Dunn\nHuge thanks to Joshua Dunn for being an amazing moderator and to the fantastic Hillyer Gallery team for making it all happen. \nDon’t miss out on the exhibit – it’s on display until March 29! \nGo to top\n\n Watch the interview by IA&A at Hillyer >\nDuration: March 7–March 29 \n  \n  \n
