SUMMARY:BEST-in-SHOW at The Art League – November Open Art Exhibit 2023
DESCRIPTION:Orbs on Rocks from my Architectural Series (20×24″ mixed media on canvas) was selected and received the BEST-in-SHOW Award by Chelsey Luster\, juror for the November Open Exhibit at The Art League\, Alexandria\, VA. \nI also have several other paintings in Gallery 75 of The Art League (same location)\, one on the wall and five on the racks. \nJoin us for the opening and award reception on Friday\, November 10\, 6 – 8 pm.\nYou may also visit this art show throughout November 2023 any day of the week\, 10 am – 6 pm. \nA few words about Orbs on Rocks:\nStonehenge and other ancient and modern architecture inspire this multimedia painting from my Architectural series. I took photos of old walls with interesting textures of rocks\, concrete and wood\, collaged them digitally to create the foundation of the composition\, printed the digital image on canvas and then painted over with acrylic\, pastel and spray paint. My goal is to combine modern and antique textures while creating color and textured fields\, pushing the boundaries of abstract painting toward a more familiar sense of depth and space.

DESCRIPTION:Participating Artist at Torpedo Factory Art Center\n\n\n\nI’ve been selected by the Torpedo Factory Artists’ Association as a participating non-member artist at Van Landingham Gallery\, Studio 311\, Torpedo Factory Art Center\, Alexandria\, VA. \nI’ve won three Best-in-Show awards and have been one of the top-selling artists at the Van Landingham Gallery since January 2023. \nThe December 2023 exhibit consists of small art for holidays. DESCRIPTION:Revival from my Architectural Series (20×20″ mixed media on canvas) was selected and awarded with an Honorable Mention by David Culpepper\, juror for the December Open Exhibit at The Art League\, Alexandria\, VA. \nI also have several other paintings in Gallery 75 of The Art League (same location)\, one on the wall and five on the racks. \nVisit this art show throughout December 2023 any day of the week\, 10 am – 6 pm.\nA few words about Revival:\nRevival brings a contemporary shift to classical painting and architectural style. My Architectural series is inspired by early perspective paintings of the Renaissance period with a contemporary twist of segmented color fields.
