SUMMARY:Green: AACC Annual National Juried Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:Blue Frog from my Indoor Pond collection\, Architectural series\, is selected for the AACC Annual National Juried Exhibit\, Green at the Cade Center for Fine Arts Gallery\, Arnold\, Maryland. Juried by Roberto Ferrari\, renowned curator of Columbia University\, it was selected from 400 submissions\, with only 43 artists chosen. \nDuration: April 28–July 14 \nOpening Reception/Meet the Artist: April 29 \nAbout the selected piece: \nMy Indoor Pond collection\, consisting of small layered watercolor on pigment print pieces (16-18″ wide)\, is a study of boundaries: where solid structures meet liquid depths and airy light. I use these states of matter to bridge the gap between abstract shapes and familiar forms\, letting the concept dictate the movement of color across the canvas. While the series is grounded in a deep\, atmospheric palette of greens\, it is defined by its “interruptions”—shocks of warm light and cool blues. Here\, the solitary blue frog acts as a vibrant anchor\, emerging from the dominant greens to breathe life into the composition. \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Landmark: Iconic American Views\, Annmarie Arts Center\, The Smithsonian
DESCRIPTION:Canyon I from my Colorfield series is selected by Elizabeth Wilson\, Head Registrar of The Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibitions Services\, for the Landmark: Iconic American Views exhibit\, at Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center. This marks my fifth consecutive acceptance at this prestigious venue affiliated with The Smithsonian. \nOpening Reception:\nMay 8\, 5–7 pm \nDuration:\nThe exhibition runs through September 20\, 2026\, offering you ample time to experience the exhibit and the beautiful gardens. \nAbout the selected piece:\nCanyon I\, watercolor and pigment print on a 16×16″ water media panel\, is one of the landscape pieces in my Colorfield series\, which focuses on a dialogue between the structured precision of cartography and the fluid\, emotive qualities of colorfield abstraction. They visualize the human impulse to map and categorize the natural world by overlaying boundaries onto atmospheric horizons. Red and warm colors dominate the palette in these series\, with cold hues used as accents. The degree of abstraction varies; some\, including Canyon I\, are inspired by the Midwestern US\, Arizona\, New Mexico\, and the Grand Canyon. \n
